THE TEAMS UPDATE

We’re back from the City of Brotherly Love, and our heads are still spinning. Somewhere in between eating a dozen cheesesteaks and watching The Undertaker chokeslam The Rock into oblivion, we got caught up in the whirlwind that was WrestleMania 40. We had no choice but to get a few PLE cards out to congratulate Sami Zayn and Bayley, and we couldn’t go without acknowledging our new Undisputed Universal Champion, Cody Rhodes, with a new SE. That’s not to mention the four new Era Title Equipment cards, the new Rhea Ripley BattlePass card, and the Bianca Belair LE in the WrestleMania 40 Event. With all that in the rearview, let’s talk about what’s coming next.

There’s No “I” In WWE SuperCard Teams Update

There really isn’t. But we’ll tell you what IS in the WWE SuperCard Teams Update, and that’s Team Challenges and the SUPER BATTLE BOARD.

Starting today, you’ll be able to get the gang back together to complete challenges for rewards and unique team cosmetics. You and your team will be given the chance to complete both weekly and monthly challenges– think things like resetting the draft board a certain number of times or playing perfect games of WILD.

That’s when the SUPER BATTLE BOARD comes into play. As a team, you’ll vote to choose from a few 4x4 to play on, though the team leader ultimately makes the final decision. Once the board is set, you’ll be given 4 active challenges to start you off. From there, any and all team members can start chipping away at the objectives.

Once completed, each challenge will grant you and your team a certain number of points based on difficulty; more difficult challenges will grant more points, naturally. Earn enough points from completing challenges to clear a random space on the board. Once you clear a whole row of spaces, (diagonals don’t count) you and your team will be granted a reward.

Rewards will vary based on the boards you choose as well as what’s happening in the game, but you can expect anything from Rarity Draft Picks to SuperCoins to new Avatars to unique cosmetics that you can apply to your team’s info panel to show off your achievements.

As you clear challenges, new ones will unlock, meaning you and your team should always have a rotating roster of objectives to tackle. If you’re reading this while not on a team, you might be feeling a little left out. We understand that and want to help you overcome any FOMO you might be experiencing. So…

We’re adding Auto-Join to Team Connector

Let’s break the ice here folks– we want to make finding new teammates easier than ever. That’s why we’re making a small but important change to the Team Connector– we’re adding the ability to make it automatic.

teams asset

From now on, whether you’re on the hunt for your crew or you need to fill a few extra spaces in your ranks, you now have the option to use Auto-Join. Here’s how it works:

  • If your team is looking for new members, create a post just like you normally would. If your parameters are set to "Open," qualified players will automatically be placed on your team.

  • If you’re looking for a team, select your parameters (minimum rarity, etc) and slap the Auto-Join button. Our matchmaking wizards will place you in the team we think you’ll fit best.

If you’re still the type to hand-pick your comrades, we’ve got you covered there, too. We’ve also added a filter to sort by Team Activity Badges. Basically, you’ll be able to quickly tell and sort by which teams spend time in which game modes and choose accordingly.

We’re looking to spend more time improving the team experience this season, so if you’re not currently in a team that’s right for you, we hope these changes can help you get there.

The Rest

Did you notice that we snuck some new battle animations into the recent event, Block Bash? If you enjoyed those, great news– we’re bringing a whole bunch of those to the rest of the game.

We’ve also tossed in a new suite of Player Avatars for good measure. This time, you can be a panda. Keep your eye out for those.

Finally, on top of the new Spring Fusions just released, keep your eyes on the horizon for a quick Cinco De Mayo event, the Backlash Watch Party, and a new Roxanne Perez SE.

That’s all for now.
